Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Yusuf Maart thanks Orlando Pirates

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Yusuf Maart has thanked Orlando Pirates following his outrageous goal that earned his team a 1-0 win on Saturday.

Maart came through the Nedbank Ke Yona initiative and joined Pirates in 2017 but he couldn’t feature for three years as he was loaned out a number of times.

His contract with Pirates expired in 2020, and the Soweto giants decided against renewing it as he couldn’t contribute anything to the club for three years.

Maart would then move to Sekhukhune United where he contributed immensely to their promotion to the DStv Premiership.

The 2021-22 season was Maart’s best, and his performances earned him Bafana Bafana call-ups and later the move to Chiefs.

Now, Maart said while things didn’t go according to plan at Pirates, he appreciates them for everything they did in his career.

“To be honest with you, I appreciate them and I thank them for everything,” said Maart on SuperSport TV.

“Things didn’t work out, the Almighty put it the other way around and I appreciate it,” he added.
