KHUNE FACES UNCERTAIN FUTURE WITH CHIEFS

Initially, Khune was earmarked for a future role amongst Amakhosi’s coaching team.

They were looking at transitioning him into a goalkeeper coach.

Moreover, Khune recently stated that he is far from done with his illustrious playing career. Stating that he could play until 40. As illustrious and legendary as it may be his recent actions (arriving at training drunk) have placed both of these possibilities under threat. Now, the contract extension does not look likely.

“It’s true they gave him a one-year deal at the start of the season but there was a possibility of renewing it for another year but for now it doesn’t look good,” the Siya source stated on SoccerLaduma.

Meanwhile, the clubs is reconsidering their plans to utilize him in the technical team.

“It has jeopardized everything for him. His new contract talks. His future with the club in terms of other positions and roles as well. So they have put all those talks on hold. This was the time to start new contract talks but they can’t because he is suspended,” he added.

AMAKHOSI ALREADY PLANNING FOR LIFE AFTER KHUNE

Amakhosi management have identified DDC star Lungile Nkosi as the potential long-term replacement for Khune.

Therefore, he has been invited to train with the senior team since Khune’s suspension. Furthermore, Karabo Molefe is also training with the side with the club looking at developing him into a future star.
