Kaizer Chiefs deserved a late penalty kick in their MTN8 semi-final against Mamelodi Sundowns according to Downs legend Hlompho Kekana.

The former Masandawana midfield general, who now works as an analyst on SABC, believes referee Luxolo Badi made a mistake in not awarding Mduduzi Mdantsane a penalty kick.

Mdantsane went down under a reckless tackle by Thapelo Maseko in the box in the 93rd minute of their clash but referee Luxolo Badi opted against awarding a penalty.

The Glamour Boys went down 2-1 on the day, but that match defining penalty moment has taken centre stage. According to Kekana, it was a clear penalty.

Ntseki looking at the positives

The most important thing is for us to understand the three types of results. We played this game looking to have a win and when you don’t win the game, yes you are disappointed, but you also look at the positives,” the Kaizer Chiefs coach said as quoted by TimesLive.

“The positives are that we had very good ball possession, we had very good tactical movements going forward in shifting play and changing points of attack.

“And it’s hard work for the players to get into those goalscoring positions. It’s for them to understand our approach in attack.”
