Which Kaizer Chiefs fan would not want Khanyisa Mayo at Naturena next season? According to the Mamelodi Sundowns legend Hlompho Kekana, Mayo should stay put in Cape Town.

KAIZER CHIEFS AND MAMELODI SUNDOWNS TARGET KHANYISA MAYO NOT READY TO MOVE?

Speaking to the media about Mayo’s breakthrough with 10 goals for the Citizens this season, Kekana feels that the 24-year-old is needed at Sundowns but is nevertheless not ready to make the move.

Kekana went as far as saying Mayo should remain in the Western Cape for a further two seasons.

“I think a player like him [Mayo], a left-footer, I think is needed at Sundowns [But] I can easily say that he must stay at where he is at the moment because we are talking about a player who needs to establish himself and make sure that he is experienced in terms of scoring goals,” Kekana said as per KickOff.

“He hasn’t scored enough this season but he has the potential to score more. So for me, I think [as a player] you need more game time in order to help you score more.

“I think it’s too early for him to move, let him just stay there for two more seasons,” Kekana concluded.

FORMER AMAKHOSI SKIPPER TO COACH HIS NATION

Former Chiefs skipper Patrick Mabedi is going international. He has been named as Malawi’s assistant coach.

Remember Patrick Mabedi in a Chiefs shirt? Of course, you should. He captained Amakhosi for eight seasons with his shirt always tucked into his shorts.
