Former Kaizer Chiefs attacking midfielder Kamohelo Mahlatsi is moving on from his failure at Naturena.

Despite emerging as one of the best no.10s in the league at Moroka Swallows in 2020/21, things just never happened for Mahlatsi in a Chiefs jersey.

The Soweto giants confirmed on 18 September that the 25-year-old Sebokeng-born attacker left on mutual consent, with only seven appearances in gold and black.

“Kamohelo Mahlatsi has left Kaizer Chiefs after the midfielder’s contract was terminated by mutual consent. He is now a free agent,” Amakhosi’s statement said.

“The 25-year-old joined Amakhosi from Moroka Swallows in 2022 and featured seven times in the Gold & Black.

“Kamohelo has given his best at all times while a Chiefs player and, following consultation with his representatives, we decided to release him with a view to him finding more regular game time somewhere else.

“We appreciate his efforts and wish him all of the best for the future,” added the Club’s Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr.

According to new reports, Mahlatsi is facing hard times but is not losing hope.

“It is very tough for him at the moment because most of his peers are playing every weekend and he can’t find a team. I honestly thought that he was going to be signed at Swallows because they know him, but that was not the case. I don’t know what went wrong there because he is a good player,” a source told the Citizen.

“But he is not letting his head drop because he knows that something will happen for him soon. What I like is that he is training every day to stay in shape. What happened at Chiefs is all in the past and some people see it as a huge flop. But he just wants to focus on the future and getting a new team.”

Meanwhile, newer reports have suggested that Mahlatsi is moments away from signing for Chippa United.
