Kaizer Chiefs transfer news: Seven players linked with a Naturena exit

There are still strong indications that another player clear-out looms at Kaizer Chiefs before the start of the new season.

Kaizer Chiefs are in the process of an overhaul in terms of their playing personnel, and already the squad is taking shape, with four new additions brought on.

The Soweto giants have made four signings so far in the transfer window, with more said to be on the way.

They have also shown some players the door, most notably Hendrick Ekstein, who has since turned up at Azerbaijani outfit Sabah FC, and Ryan Moon, who is training with Hibernian in the Scottish Premier League.

All indications are that the player clear out is far from over, as a number of factors including the need to trim the club’s foreign legion, which has ballooned to seven with the new signings, as well as players seeking to restart careers that have stalled since donning the famous gold and black.

Teenage Hadebe

Zimbabwe international Teenage Hadebe may have enjoyed some decent game time under Middendorp, but the sharp increase in Chiefs’ foreign legion during the current window places him in a vulnerable position.

The player has been widely linked with an exit, and could turn up elsewhere in the coming season.

Willard Katsande

Despite being entrusted with the armband, the long-serving midfielder’s days appear to be nearing an end.

Katsande’s involvement decreased under Middendorp, and the reinforcements brought in during the off season could spell doom as far as his Chiefs future is concerned.

Leonardo Castro

Another player who went out of favour in the lafter half of the season.

The Colombian endured indifferent form during his first full season at the club and has been linked with an exit.

Khama Billiat

Unlike the other players in the list, the club could be looking to hang on to the the forward’s services, especially since he impressed during Zimbabwe’s short stint at Afcon.

However, reports suggest that there has been strong interest in the player, with Moroccan outfit Raja Casablanca frontrunners for his signature.

Mario Booysen

What he termed a dream move to Kaizer Chiefs started bearing resemblance to a nightmare and, after only 11 league appearances during the 2018/19 season, there have been strong murmurs that the journeyman is edging close to an exit.

Booysen was a favourite of ex-mentor Giovanni Solinas, but enjoyed less game time under his successor.

Siphelele Ntshangase

The midfielder looked a good acquisition when he made the move from Baroka, but has hardly lived up to the hype.

With his career taking a backward step since becoming a Chiefs player, the 26-year-old could be eyeing a move away from Naturena.

Letlhogonolo Mirwa

Mirwa arrived at Chiefs from third tier outfit Buya Musthu, but spent his first season at the club only turning out for the reserves.
