Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly preparing to bump academy graduate Bontle Molefe up the pecking order at Naturena.

Molefi started this season as a clear fourth choice goalkeeper however he could soon find himself making Cavin Johnson’s match-day sqaud.

Both Brandon Petersen and Itumeleng Khune have reportedly run out of chances at Naturena with the latest reports suggest Molefe is being groomed to be Bruce Bvuma’s deputy goalkeeper.

“Molefe is said to have always proved himself as a Chiefs material. His performances in the reserves have always been outstanding.” a Citizen report read.

“It’s about time he gets his opportunity to play in the senior team. He just has to make sure that he grabs the opportunity with both hands because of these problems with Khune and Petersen.” a source told the publication.

“Those are experienced guys, but they have been very poor this season, hence now the guys are trying to push Bontle as quickly as they can.”

“Look I think we have enough quality in the team, I just think they have not been given enough opportunities as individuals and I think the way we assess them, or the way we analyse them as part of the Chiefs family,” Johnson told iDiskiTimes

“I think that needs to be a little better between myself and my coaching staff. Because then we can give them more, they can be more positive towards themselves.

“If you did come to Kaizer Chiefs as an average player, then we will make you a better player. I think we need to get in their skin right now and there are good players.”
