Sithebe’s time at Naturena is coming to an end

According to UnplayableZA on X, 31-year-old Sithebe will leave Amakhosi at the end of the 2023-24 campaign. Among those interested in signing the central midfielder are former club AmaZulu as well as Golden Arrows. The former Usuthu man has become a bit-part player at Chiefs, finding first-team minutes hard to come by. His situation has become worse since the arrival of Sibongiseni Mthethwa from Stellies.

Kaizer Chiefs chasing the signatures of two AFCON stars

Stanley Nwabili, the Chippa United goalkeeper, has started all three of Nigeria’s AFCON group matches and conceded just a single goal so far. Meanwhile, AmaZulu left-back Riaan Hanamub is representing Namibia who face Mali in a decisive group E match on Wednesday night. Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly pursuing deals for both players as they aim to address deficiencies in problem areas of their current squad. Chiefs have a long-standing need for a new goalkeeper, with Itumeleng Khune suspended and heading for the exit at the end of the campaign and Brandon Petersen’s time seemingly up after a string of errors.

Meanwhile, at left-back, the club are unwilling to extend 33-year-old Sifiso Hlanti’s contract and is in dire need of a direct replacement to compete with Happy Mashiane on that side of their defence.
