Kaizer Chiefs to make a bid for former Orlando Pirates star? 

Having made up to seven new signings already, Kaizer Chiefs may still be looking to further boost their front line, with a former Orlando Pirates striker.

Having made up to seven new signings already, Kaizer Chiefs may still be looking to further boost their front line, with a former Orlando Pirates striker.

So far Chiefs have announced, Thathayoane Ditlhokwe, Given Msimango, Mduduzi Mdantsane, Edson Castillo, Pule Mmodi, Ranga Chivaviro and Tebogo Potsane

Out of those players, only Chivaviro is a natural goal scoring striker, and with the amount of strikers that Chiefs have been linked with throughout this current transfer window thus far, it would be an anti-climax if the club walks away from it all with just the acquisition of the former Marumo Gallants star.

Some of the other strikers that have been mentioned as Chiefs targets are Fiston Mayele of Yanga SC, Benson Omala of Gor Mahia, Ashley Cupido of Cape Town Spurs and Gabadihno Mhango of AmaZulu.

Interestingly enough Chiefs were rumoured to be interested in signing Mhango while he was facing an uncertain future at Pirates, with the Naturena-based side were hoping they could clinch his signature on a free transfer. In the end, the Buccaneers used the Malawian international in a swap deal to get Tapelo Xoki from AmaZulu.

A couple of weeks ago it was reported that Mhango’s AmaZulu career was on the ropes, before reports claimed that their new coach was going to be given the opportunity to observe him and others in the same boat, before the club make a final decision. Now according to KickOff.com, that decision has come and the marksman is available for transfer. 

Chiefs to make a bid for former Pirates star Mhango?

“DStv Premiership side AmaZulu are believed to be open to considering offers for First-team duo Abbubaker Mobara and Gabadinho Mhango.” Wrote the publication. They also claim a source spoke to them about a process where the club is speaking to the player’s agents to find a solution for Mhango and others.

Now that Mhango is almost certain to leave, this could be the perfect chance for Chiefs to finally sign the former Sea Robber. His versatility and experience could be a massive boost to their front line, but the biggest concern would have to be the reasons for his release.
