Kaizer Chiefs: Three Amakhosi legends lined up for Naturena returns

Amakhosi amahle! Three Amakhosi legends have been tipped for a famous and influential return to Kaizer Chiefs and Naturena.

Amakhosi amahle! Three Amakhosi legends have been tipped for a famous and influential return to Kaizer Chiefs and Naturena.

Amakhosi legends Siphiwe Tshabalala, Reneilwe Letsholonyane and current Chiefs captain Itumeleng Khune have all been tipped for famous returns to Naturena post their playing careers.

For ‘Shabba‘ and ‘Yeye’, they make a return to the club having not played for years. However, Khune is set to coach at Amakhosi in the future when he decides to hang up his boots (and gloves). Therefore, when Khune does retire he is likely to return to Amakhosi in some form of coaching capacity.

THREE AMAKHOSI LEGENDS SET FOR FUTURE ROLES AT CHIEFS

Chiefs are planning on utilizing their club legends as part of their plans to develope their DStv Diski Challenge side.

Yeye is being lined up as the next Diski Challenge coach while Shabba is set to take over as manager, as reported by Phakaaati earlier this year. Since than, Letsholonyane has completed his CAF B coaching license and he is currently coaching.

“I have a team called Pimville Young Stars, which is where I am currently involved on a full-time basis,” Letsholonyane stated on CityPress.

It is clear that he has ambitions to coach in the PSL someday and that is now very possible.

“I want to coach on the biggest stage. The qualification that I have currently allows me to sit on a bench of a PSL team, but qualifications go hand in hand with opportunities, right,’ Yeye added.

Meaning, we could see him take charge of Amakhosi’s Diski side in the future and on the sidelines in the DStv Premiership. Furthermore, he has also been spotted at Amakhosi headquarters in recent months helping with various coaching aspects, as previously reported on The South African.

SHABBA LINED UP FOR POTENTIAL MANAGERIAL ROLE AT CHIEFS

Shabba is being tipped to take over ads manager of the Diski side some day.

Therefore, we could see another Amakhosi legend on the bench as he helps guide and develope the Amakhosi academy. However Shabba has not agreed to anything as yet.

KHUNE SET TO BE COACH CHIEFS GOALKEEPERS

Khune is set to coach Amakhosi post his playing career.

Therefore, we could see all three legends working at Naturena in the future. For now, Khune remains a player as his current contract only end in June 2023. .
