Njabulo Blom’s struggles in America continued after the former Kaizer Chiefs man picked up an injury in a humiliating defeat this weekend

Former Kaizer Chiefs star Njabulo Blom had a day to forget for St Louis FC in America’s MLS.

Having just recently returned to action after recovering from a suspected COVID-19, Blom was forced off injured in his side’s 3-0 loss against Seattle Sounders.

Former Kaizer Chiefs man picks up injury in MLS

Blom was introduced by coach Bradley Carnell in the 64th minute however he lasted just 18 minutes on the field of play.

During those 18 minutes, St Louis conceded two goals. He was eventually withdrawn due to injury in the 78th minute.

The midfielder failed to honour his recent Bafana Bafana call-up due to ‘illness’.

In other news, Kaizer Chiefs attacker Ashley Du Preez has opened up on his maiden campaign at the club.

While many expected fireworks, despite showing signs of the promise the attacker has been largely underwhelming for Zwane.

Du Preez reveals bold goal target

“I think I can do more, I’m not happy at the moment. There are six games to go and a cup game. My goal is to score in every game.” the Kaizer Chiefs attacker said as quoted by FarPost.

“I haven’t achieved my goal, but at the beginning my goal was to score 10 goals in the season. I’m on four goals in the league, in all competitions I think seven.

“I think I just need to learn to score more goals and practise.”
