Kaizer Chiefs rising star Bontle Karabo Molefe has reportedly requested to leave the club in search of playing time.

The 20-year-old goalkeeper was handed a three-year deal at the Amakhosi after being promoted to the first team this year.

Molefe, who’s currently fourth in line at the club in terms of goalkeeping, believes he won’t get any game-time this season.

The Glamour Boys are also reportedly interested in signing a highly talented Congolese goalkeeper meaning Molefe is likely to fall further down the pecking order at Naturena!

“All he wants is to play. You know Karabo (Molefe) is an Under-20 national team goalkeeper and if he doesn’t play at club level it will be difficult for him to play for the national team.” a source told SoccerLaduma regarding the Kaizer Chiefs academy graduate.

“And that’s why he wants to leave and play more often. But at the moment there is no club that we can say he is looking to go to but what he wants is to find one club where he can play.

“He has indicated that to the club already and they are looking at the best way to help him. The other thing is that there are still many goalkeepers he needs to compete with at Chiefs for him to play.”

Amakhosi to sign Motema keeper?

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly opened talks with an African goalkeeping talent ahead of the January transfer window.

The Glamour Boys have struggled in goal so far this season with Brandon Petersen and Itumeleng Khune both unable to provide the team with any defensive stability.

The club also seem to have little faith in fellow senior goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma and are reportedly looking to the transfer market to rope in reinforcements.

According to the latest reports, former Amakhosi goalkeeper Eshele Botende has urged the club to sign a rising DR Congo goalkeeper and talks between the two parties are underway.
