Chiefs star can’t dwell on the past despite coaching changes

Kaizer Chiefs star refuses to dwell on the past as the club made changes and axed Molefi Ntseki ahead of a crucial match this weekend.

Despite all the changes taking place at Kaizer Chiefs, star midfielder Keagan Dolly refuses to dwell on the past and says he’s focusing on the future despite coaching changes.

Dolly is expected to star and play a huge role as they meet Golden Arrows away this weekend in their 10th DStv Premiership match of the season.

Chiefs announced technical team changes and sacked coach Molefi Ntseki who is succeeded by Dolly’s homeboy, Cavin Johnson as interim mentor.

Heading to KwaZulu-Natal, Dolly admits it’s been a tough week for the Naturena-based Chiefs but they cannot dwell on the past in the midst of the changes.

CHIEFS STAR CAN’T DWELL ON THE PAST DESPITE CHANGES

Dolly and his Chiefs teammates suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of AmaZulu in the Carling Knockout Cup Last 16 clash last Saturday.

“It has been a tough week for the club. Obviously, we are disappointed from our last game and not qualifying for the next round of the Carling Cup, but I think this is an important weekend for us,” says Dolly per Phakaaathi.

“We have to come back and not dwell on the past. If we can win this weekend we can change our mindset and start winning.”

Fresh from a lengthy spell on the sidelines owing to an injury, the former Mamelodi Sundowns winger, Dolly will look to regain his best form and lead Chiefs to winning ways.

Dolly came off the bench in the loss to Cape Town City in the league before making his first start this term when they lost to Usuthu at FNB Stadium.

DOLLY CHALLENGES PLAYERS TO DO THE JOB FOR AMAKHOSI

Moreover, the 30-year-old talented star midfielder challenges his teammates to focus on the job at hand for Chiefs.

Despite not finishing the match last weekend, the Westbury-born winger walked away with the R100 000 Man of the Match award – proof that Amakhosi admires his influence.

“For us as players, we have to do our job, which is to win, to get results for the Club, and for ourselves to build confidence for the rest of the season,” adds Dolly.

“I feel there is still a long way to go, and that’s why I think this weekend is very important because a win can give us momentum for the remainder of the season.
