Kaizer Chiefs star Edson Castillo will jet out of the country this week after being called up to the Venezuelan national team

Kaizer Chiefs star Edson Castillo has been called up to the latest Venezuelan squad by coach Fernando Batista.

The Amakhosi midfielder has been the club’s standout performer so far this season, and his consistency has been rewarded by his national team coach.

Castillo was called up to the previous squad however he didn’t feature for the Venezuelan national team against Brazil and Chile.

Amakhosi fans will be hoping to see him in action this time around when Venezuela face Ecuador and Peru in the upcoming FIFA international break.

“It was an incredible experience in this Soweto Derby. It was the first for me and the fans were incredible. I mean, two teams were fighting until the end and Orlando Pirates won.” FIFA president Gianni Infantino said as quoted by IdiskiTimes.

“But Kaizer Chiefs really put on a fight, but it was a great game. The most emotional was what was happening on the field – we went to the public in the stadium, full house, incredible.
