KAIZER CHIEFS PLAYER OF THE DAY: PATRICK MABEDI

The best way to describe Mabedi is composure and exquisite penalty success. He was one of those central defenders who hardly earned cards and never missed as a penalty specialist.

The legend from Blantyre in Malawi arrived from Big Bullets in 1998 to enjoy an eight-year career as a Glamour Boy.

He captained Amakhosi to several trophies that include two league titles, the African Winners Cup, Coca Cola Cup X3 (later renamed Telkom Knockout), MTN8 X3, and the Absa Cup.

Sadly, Mabedi’s medals were stolen from his Johannesburg home after it was broken into last month.

CAREER AFTER AMAKHOSI

The former Malawi skipper later moved to Moroka Swallows in 2006 before his later calling it quits in 2008.
