KAIZER CHIEFS SIGNING OF THE DAY: BRIAN BALOYI

Baolyi, known as “Spiderman,” at Alexandra United and Balfour Park before arriving at Amakhosi in 1993.

He went on to own the Amakhosi gloves for a legendary 11 years. His gold medals include a league title and seven cup trophies that include the Africa Cup Winner’s Cup.

MOVE TO MAMELODI SUNDOWNS

The 2003/4 is the period Baloyi broke many Amakhosi supporters’ hearts. The Alaxandra-born superstar left for rivals Sundowns.

Baloyi remained at Kabo Yellow until his retirement in July 2011. His international Bafana Bafana career (24 appearances) took him to the 1998 AFCON and FIFA Cup World in the same year.
