Former Kaizer Chiefs star Junior Khanye has urged the club to sign five DStv Premiership stars in the January transfer window.

The Glamour Boys are stuck in a nine-year trophy drought. Not only are Chiefs not winning trophies, but their rivals in Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates look miles ahead of them in all footballing aspects.

According to former Amakhosi dribbling wizard Junior Khanye, these five players can help the club return the glory days to Naturena!

“Defensively I think Kaizer Chiefs should sign Stellenbosch captain Deano Van Rooyen.” Khanye said as quoted by IdiskiTimes.

“Khanyisa Mayo would be another good fit for Chiefs. His father played for the club. Other players for me would be Qobolwakhe Sibande, a left-back at Stellenbosch. Brice Ambina, defensive midfielder at Cape Town City and Keanu Cupido, the centre-back at Cape Town City.”

Kaizer Chiefs interim head coach Cavin Johnson has opened up about the club’s January transfer window plans.

The Glamour Boys have struggled to close the glaring gap between themselves and rivals Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.

The Buccaneers lifted the MTN8 title already this season, while Mamelodi Sundowns also lifted the inaugural African Football League trophy.

Despite looking well off the pace, Johnson is adamant his side don’t need to bolster their squad.

“Like I said earlier, I’m not interested in getting any players at the moment. We need to work with what we have, make sure that they come to the party and make sure that they believe that they are Kaizer Chiefs players,” Cavin Johnson said, as quoted by SoccerLaduma.

“And that’s what we gonna work on during the break and now we’ve got a little bit of a holiday.

“I think five or ten days, we get back and we’ve got a little pre-season camp and we see what happens when we come back.”
