The result did little to ease the pressure on under-fire Amakhosi coach Stuart Baxter.

It was a match where fouls were plentiful and goalscoring chances a rarity.

Kaizer Chiefs were dealt a blow in the 75th minute when Sifiso Hlanti was shown a second yellow card for his second bookable offence.

It became 10 versus 10 in the 79th minute when Celimpilo Ngema cynically kicked the ball into Khama Billiat on the ground after the referee had already blown his whistle.

The one point for each side saw Kaizer Chiefs and Marumo Gallants in 13th and 15th places, respectively, in the DStv Premiership standings.

Kaizer Chiefs will next be in action away against AmaZulu on Saturday, 2 October at 15:30, while Marumo Gallants will travel to KwaZulu-Natal to play Golden Arrows on Sunday, 3 October, also at 15:30.
