Talk about the ultimate dream if you’re a Kaizer Chiefs fan. The latest reports from all camps hint at this incredible possibility.
Reports coming out of Egypt state that Percy Tau will have to take a 50% pay-cut or he will be loaned. Meaning, if Tau does not accept this cut then he will leave the club.
Interestingly, Kaizer Chiefs are interested in signing Tau. To make matters even more interesting, Tau is open to joining Chiefs if they sign Pitso Mosimane. Meaning, Amakhosi could secure two of the biggest names in SA football if everything works out.
TAU OPEN TO CHIEFS ALIVE AFTER MASSIVE PAY-CUT
Talk about all or nothing. As things stand, Nasreddine Nabi is the front-runner for the Chiefs hot seat. Meanwhile, Tau still has a year left with the Red Devils of Egypt. Initially, Tau was demanding a salary increase. Whilst, Al Ahly wanted him to stay on the same deal. Thus, causing a dispute and uncertainty over his future. During this time, Chiefs expressed interest in him. Unfortunately, the club was able to get Tau to stay on board with the same deal.
However, here’s where things get interesting. Now, they are offering him a 50% pay cut or the alternative of leaving on loan for the remainder of his contract. Meaning, Tau could be loaned out next season with Chiefs lurking. Furthermore, if he was unhappy not getting an increase, the chances of him accepting such a drastic pay-cut are unlikely.
Therefore, Amakhosi must make an offer that betters his new deal on all fronts. Interestingly, Tau hinted at the possible move on one condition – Chiefs sign Mosimane. So, what is the latest on that?

Essentially, it is all or nothing. So, if Chiefs decide to sign Pitso Mosimane, they could get Mosimane and Tau. The ultimate two-in-one deal that has worked wonders for the likes of Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly in the past. Moreover, Mosimane confirmed surprise talks with Chiefs. The hints have been dropped, now Amakhosi management must make an offer in time for the new 2024-25 PSL season.
