ICYMI: Percy Tau to Sundowns takes another damning twist for the Brazilians

Kaizer Chiefs let go of Bimenyimana

Burundi striker Caleb Bimenyimana spent just a single season with Chiefs. He did end the 2022-23 campaign as their top scorer, but his form since the turn of the year has fallen off badly. The big Burundian bagged just a single goal in the calendar year 2023, in the Nedbank Cup round of 16 against Casric. He scored eight goals in total across 21 Amakhosi appearances.

PERCY TAU LIKELIER TO MOVE TO EUROPE THAN SUNDOWNS

Meanwhile, Bafana Bafana star Tau has one year left on his current Al Ahly contract. His current deal with the Egyptian giants, according to SoccerLaduma sources, is the major stumbling block between Tau and a return to Sundowns. According to those sources, Al Ahly hold all the cards, making it difficult for Tau to leave before his current deal expires. That is, unless he finds a suitor from the European continent. Al Ahly are even reportedly keen on extending his current contract until 2027, which would have been unthinkable less than a year ago.
