The January transfer window is well underway, and teams are slowly returning from the festive season break to bolster their squads.

As expected, a number of players are linked with different clubs while still having contracts with their teams. 

Now, The South African takes a look at the top five stars who could be on the move to Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.

TOP 5 PLAYERS WHO COULD BE ON THE MOVE

SIYETHEMBA SITHEBE

Sithebe has been heavily linked with a possible move to Kaizer Chiefs from AmaZulu before the end of the January transfer window.

However, Usuthu have repeatedly denied having any discussion with Chiefs over Sithebe’s possible sale.

Sithebe is in the final six months of his contract with AmaZulu, and if Chiefs can’t get him now, they could sign for free in July. 

THABO NODADA

Nodada to Pirates rumours have been doing the rounds for over a year now, and the Soweto giants are reportedly still keen on him. 

However, Nodada won’t come cheap as he’s an integral member of the Cape Town City squad and their captain.

Furthermore, Nodada still has a long-term contract with City although it will all depends on the player himself if he wants to move. 

KATLEGO OTLADISA 

Otladisa has already dropped hints of a possible move to Chiefs during this January transfer window. 

His agent has also confirmed receiving calls from a number of clubs that he didn’t mention for Otladisa’s services.

However, the player is contracted to Marumo Gallants, and if Chiefs really want him then they will have to buy him out. 

SIPHO MBULE

According to media reports, Sundowns are making progress in their chase for SuperSport United midfielder Mbule.

The Brazilians are renowned for their spending spree, and with them having reportedly met SuperSport’s asking price, the deal could be as good as done.

At some point, Mbule was heavily linked with a move to Chiefs, but that rumour appears to have died down. 

TEBOHO MOKOENA

Mokoena’s future remains the subject of speculation, but Sundowns are reported to be hard at work in trying to convince SuperSport United to sell the midfielder now. 

And that’s because they have the CAF Champions League campaign which resumes in February to prepare for.

SuperSport United previously said Mokoena will only leave at the end of the season but they could be tempted to sell him before the end of January.
