Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates eyeing out Sirino

Uruguayan winger Gaston Sirino arrived at Sundowns in 2018 and was a key figure under Pitso Mosimane, making 23 appearances in the 2018-19 league campaign and also exactly 23 league outings in the following DStv Premiership season. Even in 2022-23, he made a healthy 20 appearances, scoring once and supplying five assists. However, in 2023-24 he’s seen his opportunities dry up and is yet to get a single minute of league action. There’s intense competition for places at Chloorkop. According to SoccerLaduma, he wants out.

“As it stands now, both parties want out. The player wants to go where he will have game time,” their source confirmed.

“That makes him more of a fringe player and it’s frustrating for him and that’s why he wants to leave as soon as possible.”

PSL move still a possibility?

Although Sirino is now 32, he’d still add considerable quality and top-flight experience to either of the Soweto giants. There’s no concrete interest yet from either party, but that could change.

Would you be happy if your club signed 32-year-old Sirino?
