Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are rivals for an Ivorian striker.
KAIZER CHIEFS AND ORLANDO PIRATES BATTLE FOR IVORIAN STAR?
According to Soccer-Laduma, Chiefs want to sign Ivorian striker Freddy Michael Kouablan who’s contracted with Simba SC in Tanzania. Orlando Pirates have also thrown their hat into the ring.
“Yes, it’s true it is the same player that Pirates have been monitoring. That was when he was still in Zambia, but he moved to Tanzania in January. Chiefs are also believed to have shown interest and enquired about him. He is a very good striker and I believe he can fit in any team that could get him. So for now, both teams have shown interest in him (Kouablan).” said a source who also believes Simba are willing to sell.

“He had a very good first half of the season in Zambia before moving to Simba in Tanzania. They want him to help them mainly in the Champions League where they’ve reached the quarter-finals. But if a good offer comes through, they won’t hesitate to let him go. Now that Chiefs are interested in him and their scouts are monitoring him, it will all depend on the talks at the end of the day” concluded the source.
FORGOTTEN MAN MAROU WANTED IN EUROPE
SoccerLaduma reports that Orlando Pirates frine star Marou is wanted in Europe and South Africa. The 23-year-old Cameroonian was made available for loan/sale in January but nobody took the bait. He’s made only two DStv Premiership appearances this term.
“There are other players who are still on the loan list and Marou is one of them. Yes, the coach and the (Pirates) technical team have given everyone the chance in the second half of the season. This is to prove themselves and though it’s like that Marou is one of those who would be sent on loan. It will only change if things happen differently but for now, Marou is on the loan list,” said the source.
