Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are both reportedly interested in Mamelodi Sundowns star Lesedi Kapinga, who has parted ways with the Brazilians according to his representatives.

Chiefs and Pirates to pounce for Kapinga?

28-year-old Kapinga’s deal with Sundowns expired on the first of this month after he joined the club back in 2020. According to his agent Mushe Mudau, the former Black Leopards man is now on the market. Kapinga played just 39 matches for Masandawana, scoring four goals and laying on seven assists.

Kapinga’s relationship with Sundowns finished on June 30, they didn’t exercise the option,” Mudau told Far Post.

Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have been credited with an interest in Kapinga in the past. Both Soweto giants have added a number of players to their squads already during this window. Andile Jali is also a man whose future is far from certain, while Haashim Domingo recently left Chloorkop to sign for Raja Casablanca.
