KAIZER CHIEFS SIGNING OF THE DAY: CYRIL NZAMA

The year was 2000 when Nzama, fondly known as “Skhokho” made the move from Umthatha Bush Bucks to Naturena.

The Soweto-born right-back was a unique footballer. He was made special by his personality, courage and work more than his ability on the ball and it was enough to mark him as one of Amakhosi’s best-ever right-backs.

Nzama became a key figure in teams that lifted 12 trophies that included two league titles and the African Winner’s Cup (CAF Confederations Cup).

His career included 42 Bafana Bafana caps while also captaining Chiefs for several seasons. His final chapters were at Bay United and Batau FC before his retirement in 2011.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR AMAKHOSI

Meanwhile, the Glamour Boys will be in action this weekend as coach Molefi Ntseki seeks three league wins on the bounce.

Chiefs will be visitored by Mamkhize’s Royal AM at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, 16 September at 17:30.
