No Chiefs? Pitso to Nigeria? Okocha says yes

Close your eyes Kaizer Chiefs fans. A Nigerian legend has backed Pitso Mosimane to become the next coach of the Super Eagles.

Perhaps Pitso Mosimane to Kaizer Chiefs is never meant to be? The greatest coach in Africa has now been encouraged to join the mighty Super Eagles of Nigeria.

PITSO MOSIMANE BECOMES A FREE AGENT

As we reported on the 11th of October, United Arab Emirates side Al-Wahda announced the departure of Mosimane on a mutual agreement.

The decision was further influence by just one win in five games.

“Al-Wahda terminates its contract with Pitso Mosimane by mutual consent,” the note said, as translated from Arabic.

“Al Wahda Football Club Company announces that it has reached an agreement with South African technical director Pitso Mosimane to terminate the contract by mutual consent between the two parties.”

“The management of Al Wahda Football Club Company decided to appoint Mr. Arno Buitenweg as coach of the first team.

NO KAIZER CHIEFS BUT NIGERIA?

Meanwhile, Mosimane was soon linked with Chiefs to replace Molefi Ntseki.

With nearly a month past, reports on Mosimane to Amakhosi have gone missing.

Mosimane later revealed in an interview that it would be easier to return to coaching a national side rather than a club in Africa.

Having been linked with Nigeria in the past year, the whispers are back.

Asked if Mosimane would suit Nigeria, one of the West nation’s icons, Austin JayJay Okocha, said yes.

“Pitso is, without any doubt, one of the best African coaches,” Okocha told TimesLIVE’s veteran reporter Mahlatse Mphahlele.

“His track record is there for everyone to see. If we [Nigeria] can get a coach like that, it would add great value to our football.

“I don’t know how true that is [Pitso to Nigeria], but a coach like that is valuable…]
