With Amakhosi strongly linked with the former Royal Eagles and Black Leopards midfield enforcer, Mthethwa has touched on his future possibilities.

“What I can say is that I’m open to play in whichever part of the country if that’s where the next challenge comes from,” Mthethwa said, as quoted by The Sowetan.

“I can’t say it has to be KwaZulu-Natal just because it’s closer to home. As long as I’m able to work, that’s fine with me. I just need to work to feed my family,” Mthethwa added.

AMAZULU IN THE LEAD?

“I think they’ll always be links and conversations during this time, but I’m not able to say whether I’ve been contacted because no one has come out to say they want me,” he added

“Maybe the conversations are happening with my agent or the club, but I’m just fully focused on putting in the work at the moment,” the player known as “The Ox” added.

Meanwhile, Mthethwa’s deal with Stellies will only end in June 2024.

Chiefs’ options in the number 6 role:

  • Edson Castillo, 29.
  • Siyethemba Sithebe, 30.
  • Samkelo Zwane, 21.
