Masango’s message to Chiefs young superstars

Kaizer Chiefs resumed training ahead of the DStv Premiership season round two, and Mfundo Vilakazi is in the mix.

Former Kaizer Chiefs forward Mandla Masango has been watching Mfundo Vilkazi and Mduduzi Shabalala. What does he think?

Vilakazi (18) is yet to make his senior debut, while Shabalala (19), has only delivered one assist in 11 games this season, but most fans in Mzansi know the names.

The two attacking youngsters remind us of former players like Masango, but there is still a lot ahead of them.

MASANGO’S MESSAGE

Speaking to the media last week, Masango offered advice for the duo.

“I would really say to them, they should take their opportunities [when they arrive], where the fans have faith in you,” Masango told iDiski Times.

“They’re showing it already, even though they are not established yet but they just need to grab this opportunity and play their hearts out and try and do well. They mustn’t put themselves under pressure, because they have a long career ahead.

“They just need to be dedicated and wait for their chance. But this is a platform where they can also show the coach because their future is not decided in this game only. It’s a long process.

“They just need to be dedicated and focused, know what they want and work hard to achieve that,” the former Chiefs attacker concluded.
