Kaizer Chiefs’ new technical team is taking shape ahead of the pre-season, which will kick off soon. Chiefs are gearing up for a transformative season as their new technical team begins to take form, signalling a fresh start under the leadership of Nasreddine Nabi.

Following the recent arrivals of Fernando da Cruz as the first assistant coach and Ilyes Mzoughi as goalkeeper coach. Both coaches poised to sign two-year deals with one-year options, the club is set to bolster its coaching staff significantly. These appointments were finalised after agreements were verbally established earlier. Which paves the way for a structured approach to building a competitive squad.

Next steps in staff changes

Sources close to the club indicate that Majdi Safi, a former fitness coach at Raja Athletic Club and Wydad Athletic Club, is expected to join soon. Safi will collaborate with Da Cruz and Mzoughi. Which will enhance Chiefs’ preparations as they await Nabi’s official transition from ASFAR. Where he is currently tied due to his obligations in the Moroccan Throne Cup final.

While personal terms with Nabi have been agreed upon. The delay in his arrival is attributed to the procedural requirement of compensating ASFAR for the remainder of his contract. This administrative hurdle is anticipated to be resolved imminently. Clearing the path for Nabi to assume his role as head coach.

Kaizer Chiefs new technical team: Expectations and comparisons to Jurgen Klopp

In related news, football agent Mike Makaab has urged Chiefs to emulate Liverpool’s patience with Jurgen Klopp as they welcome Nabi. With Chiefs fans eagerly anticipating a turnaround after a disappointing season. Makaab emphasised the importance of giving Nabi time to implement his vision and build a competitive squad.

“You have to look at Jurgen Klopp’s journey at Liverpool. It took him time to build a competitive team, but they trusted his process. Similarly, Chiefs should give Nabi the opportunity to demonstrate his footballing philosophy and bring out the best in the squad,” stated Makaab

Optimism for Chiefs’ young talent

Reflecting on Chiefs’ current squad, Makaab highlighted the promising young players like Mfundo Vilakazi, Mduduzi Shabalala, and Wandile Duba, emphasising their potential under Nabi’s guidance. He expressed confidence that Nabi’s coaching acumen will maximise the squad’s strengths and address any weaknesses effectively.

“Chiefs have a talented squad and exciting prospects. Nabi has the skills to elevate their performance. A good coach identifies the team’s strengths and weaknesses, tailoring their strategy accordingly. I’m optimistic about Chiefs’ future under Nabi,” Makaab concluded.

As Kaizer Chiefs prepare for a new era under Nasreddine Nabi next season. The club’s strategic appointments and optimistic outlook promise a revitalised approach. With the technical team solidifying and plans progressing, Chiefs fans await Nabi’s arrival with anticipation for what lies ahead.
