Kaizer Chiefs new striker Efmamjjasond González how good is he? Here are the stats!

Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be on the verge of announcing their eight signing of the window, in the form of Colombian striker Efmamjjasond Gonzalez.

Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be on the verge of announcing their eight signing of the window, in the form of Colombian striker Efmamjjasond Gonzalez.

Reports on Monday claimed that Chiefs had reached a season-long loan agreement with Bolivian side Real Santa Cruz, to have Gonzalez on loan.

So far Chiefs have announced, Thathayoane Ditlhokwe, Given Msimango, Mduduzi Mdantsane, Edson Castillo, Pule Mmodi, Ranga Chivaviro and Tebogo Potsane. n a balancing act, Chiefs have also seen six players leaving their squad, the likes of Eric Mathoho, Siyabonga Ngezana, Phathutshedzo Nange, Cole Alexander, Khama Billiat, Austin Dube all leaving Naturena. Now according to the latest reports, they’re no longer set to release a seventh in the shape of striker Caleb Bimenyimana.

In the list of new signings, Chiefs only added former Marumo Gallants striker Chivaviro to the existing group of Bimenyimana, Christian Saile as well as Wandile Duba. They were linked with a move for Gabadinho Mhango, who eventually ended up at Soweto rivals Moroka Swallows instead. But team manager Bobby Motaung always insisted that they were in for a striker but not Mhango, and the capture of Gonzalez seems to suggest that it was true all along.

Now what do the numbers say Gonzalez will bring to this Chiefs side. In his first season with Atletico Nacional in his native, he scored one goal in six appearances as a 21-year-old. The next season he notched up an impressive 24 appearances but did not improve his goal tally, scoring just another one goal while also providing one assist. But earlier this year he signed for another topflight side in Real Santa Cruz, where his numbers have been impressive.

Chiefs fans excited by Gonzalez hot scoring form?

In the 15 games he has played for Santa Cruz so far this season, Gonzalez has scored eight goals. In fact, to narrow it down further, he has scored eight goals in his last 11 games in the Bolivian topflight. This should give Chiefs fans every right to be excited and licking their lips ahead of his imminent arrival.
