Kaizer Chiefs have complained of what they described as ‘general reluctance’ from PSL teams whom they wanted to do transfer businesses with.

Amakhosi admitted that they inquired about the availability of a number of players in the league, and while the said players wanted to join them, their clubs wouldn’t let them go.

Chiefs’ interest in both Sipho Mbule of SuperSport United and AmaZulu’s Siyethemba Sithebe and Royal AM’s Victor Letsoalo was confirmed.

However, none of those players is with Chiefs after their requests and bids were rejected by their respective clubs.

All Chiefs could manage to do was to convince Sithebe to sign a pre-contract with them and even though they pushed for his early release, they couldn’t meet AmaZulu’s demands.

And for that reason, Sithebe couldn’t move even after making it clear to AmaZulu that he wanted to join Chiefs.

KAIZER CHIEFS STATEMENT ON PSL CLUBS’ RELUCTANCE

The club did enquire about the availability of some players with a few clubs in the league during the January transfer window period, but there was general reluctance from some of those clubs to do business even though the players expressed their interest in joining Amakhosi.

Kaizer Chiefs will continue to do business on a willing buyer, willing seller policy with other clubs in the future.
