Kaizer Chiefs need a former Orlando Pirates administrator to lead the turnaround at Naturena. Chiefs interim coach Cavin Johnson expressed astonishment at the barrage of missiles hurled onto the pitch. During the 180th Soweto Derby against Pirates at FNB Stadium. The incident, which occurred on Saturday. Prompted a response from Amakhosi superfan Tshemedi, who advocated for change.

A Call for Change: Tshemedi’s Recommendation

To prevent future occurrences, Chiefs supporter Tshemedi proposed a solution. Involving a figure with a history in South African sports administration, particularly with Pirates. This individual played a pivotal role in the team’s successful season in 2011/2012 before assuming administrative roles elsewhere. Tshemedi believes that bringing in experienced leadership, such as Floyd Mbele, could steer Chiefs in the right direction.

” I don’t think the club should be sold. I think the management of the club can just address a couple of things. One of them is having proper personnel in place,” Tshemedi told The South African

” These are people that will take the club to the next level. I believe the current management has reached its ceiling. It’s time for new people to come in and set their own visions.

” Kaizer Chiefs need an experienced CEO that will turn things around. Chiefs need someone like Floyd Mbele.”

Kaizer Chiefs need path forward: Suggestions for Improvement

Reflecting on the club’s current state. Tshemedi emphasised the need for internal reforms rather than a change in ownership. He advocated for the appointment of qualified individuals to key positions within the organisation, particularly a seasoned CEO like Mbele, who could hold the coaching staff accountable and drive performance improvements.

” They need a more experienced Sporting Director(SD) in him(Mbele). Or maybe rope in someone with a proper CV in terms of the role” continued Sir Tshemedi.

” Maybe this new SD can work hand in hand with Kaizer Motaung Junior and groom him for the role. Because what is currently happening now is bad.

“I mean, the coach(Cavin Johnson) has been on an interim basis since November. With the league having started in August, to me it feels like another wasted season.

“So having a CEO or SD that keeps the coach accountable, meaning the coach or whoever in a particular position can be fired. They would know this. This would definitely push them, or him as a coach, to actually deliver.

” I really believe that this is one department that has let us down. Which is the coaching over the years. So it’s not a question of new ownership but a question of employing the right individuals in high portfolios and positions.”
