Kaizer Chiefs: Molefi Ntseki to drop Itumeleng Khune?

Molefi Ntseki has some massive decisions to make at Kaizer Chiefs. So, will the new coach be dropping Amakhosi legend Itumeleng Khune?

The pressure is on Ntseki as he takes his place in the Amakhosi hot seat.

One of his toughest decisions will be whether to start or drop Khune with ramifications for the entire side.

NTSEKI TO DROP CHIEFS CAPTAIN KHUNE?

Under Arthur Zwane, Khune was dropped to the bench with Brandon Peterson preferred in goal.

Now, Ntseki must decide if he will start Peterson or Amakhosi legend Khune in what could very well be his final season in the PSL.

Khune has been handed a contract extension which means Amakhosi management still see value in him.

However, Ntseki is likely to utilize Peterson as his main man with Khune stepping up in his absence or playing the occasional matches in the Nedbank Cup or MTN8.

Furthermore, if he does drop Khune then he needs to select a new captain.

Dolly is the favourite to wear the armband next season since he is the vice captain.

NEW AMAKHOSI CAPTAIN?

Dolly is the likely next Amakhosi captain if Khune is dropped but even his position in the side is not guarenteed.

Amakhosi have made several attacking signings in Mduduzi Mdantsane, Pule Mmodi and Ranga Chivaviro and Ntseki and management are likely to give Mduduzi Shabalala alot more game time.

He was in charge of the youth developmental structures so he could give more gametime to youngsters with Dolly seemingly passed his prime.
