Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe has been offered some golden advice by his former coach Joey Antipas.

Sithebe has found the going tough at Naturena, struggling to hold down a place in the Amakhosi’s midfield since joining the club in 2021.

And the arrival of Sibongiseni Mthethwa means Sithebe moves further down the pecking order.

According to former AmaZulu coach Antipas, Sithebe needs to forget about being a ‘Glamour Boy’ and start playing effective football.

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder urged to return to basics

“Willard Katsande is one of the players that was simple at Kaizer Chiefs. He wasn’t classy but he did justice in his position. He was simple in all respects.” Antipas told FARPost.

“I think Siyethemba Sithebe can take lessons from him. Sometimes all a player needs is to be grounded and be able to realize the best out of himself.”

Ntseki looking at the positives

The most important thing is for us to understand the three types of results. We played this game looking to have a win, and when you don’t win the game, yes, you are disappointed, but you also look at the positives,” the Kaizer Chiefs coach said, as quoted by TimesLive.

“The positives are that we had very good ball possession, we had very good tactical movements going forward in shifting play and changing points of attack.

“And it’s hard work for the players to get into those goalscoring positions. It’s for them to understand our approach in attack.”

Kaizer Chiefs are improving – Rhulani

“It’s going to be very difficult. Contrary to what the results may suggest. We are playing against a very good side, a very improved Chiefs team.” – Rhulani Mokwena said as quoted by IOL.

“We want to try to win every match at Mamelodi Sundowns. Regardless of whatever advantage or disadvantage we may have.”
