A Kaizer Chiefs fan-favourite has finally been promoted into the first team. In fact, he will be a part of Amakhosi’s squad when the PSL resumes.

Mfundo Vilakazi has just been promoted into the first team.

Meaning, he is now a part of the senior squad. Therefore, he could make his first team debut when the DStv Premiership returns in February.

OBRIGADO HANDED CHIEFS CONTRACT

‘Obrigado‘ has reportedly just earned his first senior contract with Amakhosi.

“Kaizer Chiefs DDC coach Vela Khumalo tells me Mfundo Vilakazi has officially been promoted to the first team. It happened his week,” SuperSport TV analyst Karabo Phasha stated on FARPost.

The talented DDC star has gone viral, exciting Amakhosi fans nationwide with his dribbling skills.

Furthermore, he scored a free kick to help the All Stars XV beat Stellenbosch FC in the Carling Cup final.

Prior to this he was being closely monitored by Chiefs’ technical team.

First, he was invited to train with them at the start of the season before returning to prepare for the All Stars game. Now, he has finally made the step up and he could even make his senior debut.

AMAKHOSI’S DDC STARS CONTINUE TO MAKE THE STEP UP

At just 18, Vilakazi is one of the youngest players in Amakhosi’s senior side.

He joins the likes of Lungile Nkosi, Bontle Molefe, Aden McCarthy as DDC players who are in line to make their debuts. Moreover, Samkelo Zwane, Sabelo Radebe and Wandile Duba have all earned their professional debuts having made the step up from the DDC to the DStv Premiership.
