Times are bad at Naturena. Kaizer Chiefs with to restart the season now but have to continue with the fixtures.

KAIZER CHIEFS GO FOUR MATCHES WITHOUT A WIN

Amakhosi missed a huge opportunity to recover on Saturday.

Chiefs suffered a big embarrassment last Sunday in the Nedbank Cup against lower division side Milford FC. The result was a 0-0 (5-4) defeat on penalties to mark over nine seasons without a trophy.

Saturday was a chance to bounce back to winning ways. Instead, Chiefs drew 0-0 at home with a struggling Swallows team.

The result meant four matches without a win for coach Cavin Johnson.

“I think we, as Kaizer Chiefs, we are not happy,” the 65-year-old from Johannesburg said via X.

“We controlled the game in little patches as a team. As a collective, we are really, really not happy with ourselves. We need to be clinical when we find ourselves in positions to win the game.

“We need to be more clinical in the last third of the game. I think we do that in too little patches within the game,” the Chiefs tactician added.

“Be that as it might be, again, we didn’t concede, which is a little plus. But it’s not good enough for us coming from a loss.

“So now we need to pick ourselves up in two days before the next game. And for sure, we are playing Golden Arrows. We are going to come out again to get the three points against Golden Arrows,” Johnson concluded.

MARCH SCHEDULE

Meanwhile, Chiefs have three more matches coming this month. The programme will include a Soweto Derby against the mighty Orlando Pirates.

  1. Tuesday 5 March – Golden Arrows (home)
  2. Saturday 9 March – Pirates (away)
  3. Saturday 30 March – Cape Town City (home).
