So far Chiefs have announced, Thathayoane Ditlhokwe, Given Msimango, Mduduzi Mdantsane, Edson Castillo, Pule Mmodi, Ranga Chivaviro and Tebogo Potsane. In a balancing act, Chiefs have also seen seven players leaving their squad, the likes of Eric Mathoho, Siyabonga Ngezana, Phathutshedzo Nange, Cole Alexander, Khama Billiat, Austin Dube  and Kgaogelo Sekgota all leaving Naturena. Now according to the latest reports, they’re no longer set to release a seventh in the shape of striker Caleb Bimenyimana.

Besides Sekgota and Bimenyimana, there were a couple more players at Chiefs who were thought to have been on the list of players who could potentially be set for an exit from Naturena. Those include the likes Bruce Bvuma, Kamohelo Mahlatsi, Sabelo Radebe, George Matlou and Mashiane. There have been reports claiming that Radebe and Matlou could have seen the club change their mind on them.

Now according to the latest reports from Soccer-Laduma, Mashiane has since entered that category, with Chiefs now believed to be leaning towards keeping him at the club.

Mashiane to stay on at Chiefs?

“There are only two natural left backs in the team. It’s Happy (Mashiane) and SiIso (Hlanti), Yes, Edmilson Dove can play in that position but they prefer to use him in central defence and that’s why they have decided not to loan out Happy. They need him. They could not sign a new left back and they felt there is no need at the moment to let Happy go. So, he will be staying on for now,” said a source to the same publication.

Mashiane struggled to get much game time last season in either defensive or attacking positions, and it seems rather strange that Chiefs would keep him having beefed up on that left side of the pitch.
