A former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder has reportedly found a new home as he looks to press the restart button on his fading football career.

A former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder has reportedly found a new home as he looks to press the restart button on his fading football career.

According to a report by ThisIsFootballAfrica, Lucky Baloyi has joined Polokwane City in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Details around the length of his contract with Polokwane City are still unknown but it could be that Duncan Lechesa needs his services until the end of the season.

Polokwane City are pushing for a return to the DStv Premiership, and they need all the experience there can be to be able to achieve that hence the acquisition of Baloyi.

FORMER KAIZER CHIEFS MIDFIELDER TO POLOKWANE CITY A DONE DEAL?

“Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Lucky Baloyi who left Maritzburg United in December 2022 has found a new home at Polokwane City,” reports the publication.

BALOYI HASN’T BEEN THAT LUCKY IN RECENT YEARS

Baloyi hasn’t been that lucky in his career since the sale of Bloemfontein Celtic in 2021 where he was a stalwart and slowly cementing his legendary status.

He relocated to KwaZulu-Natal to team up with Royal AM but he featured sparingly for Shauwn Mkhize’s side before moving to Maritzburg United.

It was through John Maduka’s influence that Baloyi moved to the Team of Choice but he was deemed surplus to requirements by Fadlu Davids in December 2022.
