Siyabonga Ngezana scored the only goal of the game in the eighth minute, and it eventually proved to be the difference.

Richards Bay FC were later reduced to 10 men after Salim Magoola was shown a straight red card for denying Keagan Dolly a clear goalscoring opportunity.

This was the eighth game that Chiefs play with numerical advantage, and a second successive match after Orlando Pirates captain Innocent Maela was shown a red card last week.
