Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are believed to be going head to head for a number of transfer targets.

Chiefs and Pirates are both known for wanting to boost their respective squads with the best quality available.

It is believed that, this time around it will be no different between the two Soweto giants. This, of course, will inevitably see them clash for certain targets. According to reports they’re already clashing for Stanley Nwabali, Oswin Appollis, Elias Mokwana, Riaan Hanamub and Shaune Mogaila. That does not seem to be where the list ends, however, with a new name set to be part of the tug-of-war.

Chiefs and Pirates set to compete for top talent!

In fact, just three weeks ago this publication reported that Chiefs had joined Pirates in the race for Freddy Kouablan. Last month, both were thought to be in the race for Chippa United star Baraka Majagoro. TS Galaxy’s Thato Khiba has also since entered the list. That just proves that both clubs are looking to strengthen their forward lines ahead of next season. Now the latest name to be discussed by both clubs suggests their defensive lines are also a targeted area for improvement.

According to Soccer-Laduma, Chiefs have joined Pirates in the chase for Stellenbosch FC defender Ismael Toure

Toure latest name on the list

“Toure is one of the players that have been on the radar of Chiefs. There’s been interest in the player since his days at Marumo Gallants and Stellenbosch FC were quick to sign him. Pirates and Chiefs have been monitoring the player while there’s also a possibility of him going overseas,” said a source to the same publication.

Toure initially came to South Africa in 2017 to have a trial at Chiefs. He did not do enough to earn a contract at the club at the time. With Pirates also interested in his services, could he opt to go to the other side of Soweto as a result?
