DStv Premiership powerhouse Kaizer Chiefs are highly regarded by many high profile coaches. The list includes Manchester United‘s Benni McCarthy.

McCarthy’ currently the striker’s coach at Manchester United, has simply said he would sit and think about an offer from Amakhosi. The Hanover Park-born legend said it’s not easy to say no to an institution like Kaizer Chiefs.

“If the opportunity arises to coach KaizerChiefs, obviously you will have to sit down and think about it,” McCarthy said to Robert Marawa on 947 after he was asked about the job.

“Like I said, you don’t say no to an institution,” McCarthy added.

In the meantime, McCarthy’s deal with the Red Devils is ending in June, and the South African is yet to receive a new offer. Peter du Doit, a close ally of McCarthy’s agent, Rob Moore, recently claimed that McCarthy will leave Manchester United.

“l know Benni’s contract at Man U ends in June & that Ten Hag won’t be at MU by then,” Du Toit said via X.

“So, believe me, Benni will leave. SA football needs Benni & SA also needs Hugo Broos now & for the long term. Make Broos TD & Benni & Helman heading the coaching. That could secure Bafana’s future,” Du Toit concluded.

Meanwhile, the situation has since changed in favour of McCarthy. The head coach who brought him in, Erik ten Hag, is no longer facing the axe after winning the FA Cup last weekend. This means that McCarthy is more likely to be offered a new deal.

In other news, Amakhosi are reportedly battling Orlando Pirates for the signature of a top goalkeeper from Premeiro de Agosto of Angola.

The club known as Amakhosi have been linked with the likes of Stanley Nwabali from Chippa United, and Salim Magoola from Richards Bay FC. Over at Orlando Pirates, Mpontshane and Ofori are facing the end of contracts on 30 June.

According to the newest reports, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have cast an eye towards an Angolan international: Neblu from Premeiro de Agosto.

“I can confirm that Adilson Cipriano da Cruz, who is also known as Neblu, has triggered interest in the PSL,” a source told Soccer Laduma.

“The player’s handlers are currently in talks with at least three teams at the moment, and yes, they are big clubs in the league. Neblu is a top goalkeeper and at 30 years old he has reached maturity. He has been in the international team of Angola since 2012, either the A-Team or the CHAN side that he has captained for many years. His top performances at the recent AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire were proof of his remarkable progress although his impressive work was overshadowed by his red card against Namibia.”

Neblu was also available to offer himself: “I am ready for any good offers and I would like to play in South Africa,” he said.
