Kaizer Chiefs star Itumeleng Khune will FINALLY return to the field of play after he was voted to represent the Warriors in the DStv Compact Cup!

Itumeleng Khune is set to make his first appearance since August however it won’t be in Kaizer Chiefs colours!

The Amakhosi goalkeeper has been struggling for game-time this season after falling down the pecking order at Naturena.

Stuart Baxter has opted to field Nigerian goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi while Bruce Bvuma and Brandon Petersen have been preferred as back-up.

Ituemeleng Khune’s only appearance this season came in Kaizer Chiefs’ opening match of the season against Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Glamour Boys were knocked out of the MTN8 in the first round courtesy of a dramatic penalty shootout loss following a 2-2 draw.

Itumeleng Khune’s Warriors FC have been drawn against Amabutho FC in their semi-final clash which will take place on 22 January 2022 at the Moses Mabhida stadium.
