Kaizer Chiefs have just made a huge decision on Itumeleng Khune with the club legend facing huge consequences as a result of his recent actions.

Khune reportedly showed up to training drunk.

Now, Amakhosi have released an official statement on Khune and he is set to be stripped of the captaincy.

KHUNE STRIPPED OF CHIEFS CAPTAINCY

Khune will no longer wear the Amakhosi armband.

“The Club has taken steps to address his transgressions and certain sanctions were instituted, including removing him from the Club captaincy of Kaizer Chiefs,” the statement read on SoccerLaduma.

Meaning, Cavin Johnson must elect a new club captain.

The frontrunners are Keagan Dolly, Yusuf Maart and S’fiso Hlanti. Furthermore, Given Msimango will be considered too.

Amakhosi take these actions very seriously and have decided to separate Khune from the team for the time being.

“At the conclusion of the club’s rigorous disciplinary processes last week, the committee has taken stern action and decided that Itumeleng Khune should be temporarily separated from the team until certain conditions have been fulfilled,” he added.

PSL HAVE A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY TOWARDS DRINKING

We have seen Dumisani Zuma, Andile Jali and Itumeleng Khune land themselves in hot water as a result of alcohol.
