Kaizer Chiefs to welcome Ditlhokwe back soon

Thatayone Ditlhokwe, one of the cornerstones of the Chiefs’ back four, dislocated his shoulder while on international duty with Botswana in October. Skipper of his country, big things are expected of the 25-year-old at club level too. He’s certainly in the frame to be a major contender for the Chiefs captaincy when Itumeleng Khune hangs up his gloves. Ditlhokwe underwent surgery on December 11th and a three-month timeframe was provided for his return. Therefore, it shouldn’t be long before the impressive central defender slowly returns to full training.

“TT (Ditlhokwe) came off the operating table yesterday for his shoulder and we expect him to be out for about three months. We wish him a good recovery. And Ashley (du Preez) is maybe a week and a half to two weeks away from being back,” Cavin Johnson told the Kaizer Chiefs Media team back in December.

DITHEJANE OPENS UP ON KAIZER CHIEFS EXIT

Puso Dithejane, now of TS Galaxy, has made two Nedbank Cup appearances this term to go with his two DStv Premiership outings for the Rockets. He’s reflected on his 2023 exit from Chiefs.

“Somehow the thing that I did wasn’t good because I’m not bigger than the team. I respect that and I respect the club,” Dithejane told FARPost.

“So, for me, to do that to the team, I wasn’t respectful. But then I didn’t mean to do it. I respect the brand and I’m not bigger than the brand.

“What I learnt is one shouldn’t be afraid to make mistakes and all of us in football make mistakes. One can only learn from their mistakes and do better going forward.”

“For me, I don’t think I regret [leaving Kaizer Chiefs] because this is the opportunity to play in the PSL. I’m learning a lot from it.

“I don’t think I regret making a switch, but then on the other side to be honest I miss playing there. Here it’s different to what I was used to,” he added.
