ICYMI: The one player Kaizer Chiefs have REALLY missed this season

Change coming to Naturena

Th Glamour Boys were dumped out of the domestic cups and won’t be qualifying for next season’s CAF Champions League. Now, the focus must be on recruitment of players who align with the current playing philosophy at the club.

So, who could be coming and and who’s potentially going?

Thatayaone Ditlhokwe is confirmed as an Amakhosi player for next season, and TS Galaxy skipper Given Msimango is heavily rumoured to be joining soon. Chiefs are still working on a deal for Cape Town City playmaker Mduduzi Mdantsane but nothing is confirmed there, while there are some tentative rumours they could make a play for his City teammate Khanyisa Mayo. Meanwhile, there’s a tussle for the signature of in-form Stellies playmaker Junior Mendieta, and Chiefs are in the thick of that. He’s got eight goals and eight assists in the PSL this term.

The return to form and full fitness of Nkosingiphile Ngcobo will also surely feel like a new signing for fans who would have missed him dearly for the majority of this campaign.

These players could all be leaving the club:

  • Eric Mathoho
  • Austin Dube
  • Sabelo Radebe
  • Cole Alexander
  • Phathutshedzo Nange
  • Darrel Matsheke

There are also big question marks over the future of Khama Billiat whose contract expires at the end of the season. There have been whispers that Chiefs may exercise an option to extend it by a year, but nothing has been confirmed to that effect just yet. The situation over club captain Itumeleng Khune is also less than clear for the same reasons.

Change is upon us!
