Five Kaizer Chiefs players doubtful for Gallants clash

Kaizer Chiefs’ injury woes seem to be simmering down but they’ll still be without a number of key players tonight

Kaizer Chiefs welcome Marumo Gallants to the FNB Stadium for a DStv Premiership clash this evening.

Arthur Zwane’s side are desperate for a victory, after SuperSport United went three points ahead in the race for second position.

Gallants on the other hand will need a ‘gallant’ effort to avoid relegation.

The club sit rock bottom on the log standings with six matches to go.

Despite their log position, Gallants have qualified for the CAF Confederations Cup last eight and will be high on confidence this evening!

Kaizer Chiefs latest injury news!

Khama Billiat, Eric Mathoho and Cole Alexander have returned to training however they’re unlikely to play any part tonight due to match fitness.

Reeve Frosler and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo are also set to miss out through injury as well.

There are no suspensions in the Amakhosi camp heading into tonight’s fixture.

“Unfortunately for them, I don’t think they deserve to be where they are [on the log].” the Kaizer Chiefs coach told IOL.

“When you watch them play in Africa, they are not in the last eight by fluke, they have been doing very well. They started the season a bit slow and gradually their confidence grew.

“They’re playing with the big boys in Africa. That alone, if you can sustain that pressure of travelling in Africa and grinding results there, builds your confidence and mentally you become strong.”
