Kaizer Chiefs are likely to part ways with Njabulo Ngcobo. The player’s agent has explained why the player is talking to AmaZulu and a few unnamed local clubs.

NJABULO NGCOBO TO LEAVE KAIZER CHIEFS?

This situation is not too surprising. Ngcobo, aged 29, has only made 10 appearances for Amakhosi this season. Additionally, his existing contract with Kaizer Chiefs is ending on 30 June. We’re in April and the club is yet to offer the Folweni-born central defender a new deal. According to his agent, the former Uthongathi and Moroka Swallows player has begun to talk to AmaZulu, among other clubs.

“Kaizer Chiefs is a professional club, they communicate about their intentions. Unfortunately, they have not said anything about Njabulo Ngcobo,” the agent, Sboniso Ngubane told SABC Sport. “We are in talks with different clubs in the DStv Premiership, including AmaZulu FC,” he confirmed.

Should Ngcobo sign for AmaZulu, he would be returning to where it started. The player known as “Mapholoba” enjoyed his development years at Usuthu before moving to Richards Bay and Uthongathi.

The club known as the Glamour Boys are also linked with a few new signings for next season. Reports say Kaizer Chiefs are targeting Bafana Bafana internationals Oswin Appollis and Elias Mokwana.

The 22-year-old Appollis scored five goals and provided six assists in Polokwane City’s colours. Mokwana, 24, delivered similar numbers for Sekhukhune United: eight goals and 10 assists. According to recent local reports, Kaizer Chiefs are working on moves to sign the Bafana internationals. “Chiefs are currently his first choice should there be a good deal for him, and he believes playing for Amakhosi will give him a chance to be a regular at Bafana,” the Citizen reported.

“Another Bafana Bafana player from this AFCON squad, who has been linked with [Kaizer] Chiefs, has been Polokwane City attacker Oswin Appollis, who was also instrumental in the Rise and Shine’s hard- fought 1-0 win over Moroka Swallows this past weekend,” iDiskiTimes reported.
