Kaizer Chiefs are looking in the Winelands for good deals
Amakhosi have signed Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Ashley Du Preez and Zitha Kwinika from Stellenbosch in the past, while Kgaogelo Sekgota has recently moved in the other direction. The Glamour Boys are reportedly eyeing a double raid again this January with two key targets at Stellenbosch. According to The Citizen, attacker Antonio van Wyk is on the list.
“I remember when the club’s (Stellenbosch) reserves won the Diski Challenge there were teams who inquired after his (van Wyk) services. Now that he has played more games in the senior team people see how good he is. No wonder the likes of Chiefs have been monitoring him. If the club agrees to sell him, then he won’t be coming cheap,” said a source to the same publication.
Another Stellenbosch player on their wanted list is Fawaaz Basadien. The left-back is seen as a long-term replacement for 33-year-old Sifiso Hlanti who isn’t expected to sign a new contract at Naturena.
