Kaizer Chiefs extend veteran defender’s contract
Kaizer Chiefs have announced the contract extension of veteran defender Sifiso Hlanti by one year with an option to renew.

Kaizer Chiefs have announced the contract extension of veteran defender S’fiso Hlanti by one year with an option to renew.

Hlanti’s contract was expiring TODAY, 30 June and there were fears that he could be lost to Chiefs after reportedly being offered a salary cut.
However, Chiefs moved swiftly to end those speculation by announcing his stay beyond June with an option for another year.

Hlanti joined Chiefs two years ago following a brief stint with Swallows FC, and he immediately cemented his place in the team.

“Kaizer Chiefs are pleased to announce that full-back S’fiso Hlanti has signed a one-year contract extension, with an option for a further year thereafter,” reads part of Amakhosi’s statement.

Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr said the club was happy to have retained the services of Hlanti.

He described him as an important member of this current Chiefs team with his experience and ability shown over the past two years.
“We are happy that we have agreed on this contract extension with S’fiso. He is an important member of the team, given his experience and ability. We look forward to his continued hard-work and sharing of his knowledge with the young players we have in the team,” said Motaung Jr.
