Kaizer Chiefs extend goalkeeper’s contract until 2026

Kaizer Chiefs are working hard behind the scenes to secure the futures of players whose contracts are coming to an end in June 2024.

Kaizer Chiefs have officially announced the contract extension of Brandon Petersen for a further two years, meaning he will stay until June 2026.

In a statement released on Thursday, Chiefs confirmed that Petersen’s new two-year deal has an option to renew for another year.

Petersen’s initial contract was set to expire in June alongside that of Bruce Bvuma who took over from him as Chiefs’ No.1 towards the end of 2023.

PETERSEN HAS BEEN BLOWING HOT AND COLD FOR CHIEFS

While Petersen may have been offered a new deal, it is only fair to admit that he has been blowing hot and cold for Chiefs.

However, given his goalkeeping qualities coupled with the fact that Khune is in the twilight of his career, Petersen was almost certain to be offered a new deal.

He can now focus on getting back to his best now that his future is secured for the next two to three years at Chiefs.
